The current President of the Republic, Karst is the man behind the economic recovery of Bastok.
Under his control, the city has gone from city of wood buildings to a giant stone metropolis of industry. His supervision
has brought Bastok to the peak of crafting excellence.

Daughter of the president, she was named after a great adventurer by the same name. And like her counterpart, Cornelia has found
a strange relationship with the Galka, seeing things through their eyes. Perhaps with her help, the relations between the Galka and Humes will one day improve.

This young Galka shows more wisdom and age than many old scholars. While he keeps to himself, few galka seem to see the true role
he will have to play in their society. With Cornelia, the future of Bastok is in their hands.

The ancestor in a long line of Hume heroes, Volker is a living legend. Leader of the Mythril Musketeers and hero of
the Republic, he is without equal. Known for his defeat of the Shadow Lord in the the Crystal War, Volker's story is the stuff of novels.

(Left to right: Naji, Iron Eater, Ayame) The 3 elite troops of the Mythril Musketeers fall directly under the
the leadership of Volker and the President. Not listed is the 5th member, Zeid, a Galka who left long ago. His position is still filled by
him should he ever return, though his location and reasons for leaving are unknown.
The 3 members who remain each serve special purposes within the Republic. Naji, is the liason to the senators and townsfolk. Iron Eater
is the bodyguard of the President, and Ayame is the representative of the Republic in negotiations.
