I.

Although unknown when, it is known that before airships and the great war, the scientists of Bastok had developed other flying devices such as giant hot air balloons to survey battlefields and possibly drop explosives from above.

II.

Sometime between the attacks on their lands to the east and the first battle of the Highlands, San d'Oria began to institute female knights into the two orders. This could either be because of change in politics or possibly the countless deaths of their officer corp at the hands of the beastmen, taru invasion, and hume push from the south.

III.

During the time after the arrival of the Galka, but before the rise of Bastok as a world power, the city was built of wood - not the stone town we see today. There was a great fire that destroyed much of the city. In the aftermath the president asked for donations from the citizens to rebuild the town, however none came. Senator Karst offered the proposal to rebuild the shops and merchants homes first, and although it didn't sit well with the citizens, it eventually led to the quick rebuilding of bastok, Karst's presidency, and the nation that is the super power today.

IV.

At some point, Windurst was the home of a many great warlord leaders. I can assume this is before the first starsybil, but there is talk of them fighting the San d'Orians, so perhaps this is a command position of the "military" which no longer exists.

V.

The moblins speak of a Demon King which lords over the demons in the Shadow Lords abesence. King Paimon as he is called is said to be one of the more thoughtful and calm of the Kindred. Serving directly under the dark divinity, nothing more about him is known. Note: this is not the Demon King located in Dynmais.

VI.

The Vana'diel Tribune mentions in the article "Bat's-eye View" that Goobbues are "pets" of Rolanberry Fields farmers and are trained to scare away berry grubs. They also bring in the fruit for the harvest.

VII.

The following are character plot points which are not fully addressed and left "open" for you to investigate or decide on your own. They are pieced together from playonline website information and in game cutscenes/dialogue.

- The Louverance we know from "Chains of Promathia" is revealed to be the brigand Atarefaunt. Though his intentions seem noble, he is still a criminal and has stolen the personage of the knight Louverance. His plan was to use this identity to get revenge on the wealthy Count Tuelomme who was responsible for his capture at the hands of bounty hunters some years ago. The Real Louverance trying to clear has name has been tracking this fake. Atarefaunt is a member of the infamous Tavnazian group Vauderame's Knights. Once legendary heroes, this group has recently been given titles like thieves and criminals. Featured in the THF Af quest line this group is also seen in the final Louverance cutscene in San d'Oria (they are in the background as he walks away).

- The infmous bounty hunter and former capturer of Atarefaunt, Goldmane, is mentioned many times as the greatest adventurer who ever lived. In a remarkable twist, it turns out that Goldmane is not only a little taru, but the father of the Chebukkis. After the fall of Tavanzia he was seperated from them and lived a life hidden away on his island fearing they had all perished.

- As mentioned in the Windurst "important figures" section, the reason for Nanaa Migho being allowed to run her operations is a mysterious one. However, when looked into closer it appears she has some good connections. Her mother, former Chieftainness Romaa Mihgo, selected as her heir the Norg pirate Jakoh Wahcondalo after witnessing her skill and leadership. Angered by her mothers choice, Nanaa left Kazham and ventured to Windurst. It appears due to who she is, the authorities spend little resources in tracking her down. Think of it as perks of being the daughter of one of the mithra's most honored leaders.

VIII.

Before the great war, a Wizard of emense power lived in Tavnazia. It was said his power was so impressive even the most skilled Taru black mages feared him. After the great war he vanished, but rumor has it he hid himself deep within the Aquaducts beneath the Tavnazian Safehold. There he began the study of Necromancy. However, it is told that he is not the first to create life from death.

IX.

Treants appeared in travel logs for the first time in the year 755.

These wondrous mobile plants are able to move thanks to certain super-developed organs. But did you know that treants are only active for a limited period of time? In fact, they spend most of their time rooted firmly in the soil, quietly soaking up the sun's rays with their green leaves for photosynthesis like normal plants!"

Most of the time, treants lay their roots down in the ground, just like trees, and absorb nutrients and water from the soil. Then, at a certain stage of life, the treant is pollinated and prepares for the birth of numerous saplings. Much nutrition is required for this stage, and the treant begins its hunt for more.

This diagram shows the treant's growth periods, including the distension stage. Nodes form beside the creature's eyes and mouth. See the two babyish faces? They look familiar, do they not? They will soon become saplings!

Treants move around in search of prey in order to reproduce and provide reserves of water and nutrients for their offspring. This is the treant version of a water bottle and pail lunch. The love of a parent is a powerful force!
